Arts Factory : illustration and cartoons

Welcome to Paris, one of the biggest contemporary art trading centers in the world! In a city full of Contemporary Art Galleries, Arts Factory is a kind of oasis for those who love illustration and cartoons, Arts Factory is a very cool place!

Arts Factory – the story

Founded in 1996 by Effi Mild and Laurent Zorzin, Arts Factory is since the beginning a kind of space half shop – half gallery with the objective to offer young artists a cool place to show their production without going through all those steps imposed by traditional art galleries in terms of recognition, background or mode of expression.

In 2006 Arts Factory’s owners also started publishing, in different formats, to share their own favourite artists with a larger public.

But how is Arts Factory for visitors? We went for the first time in August 2016 to see their “Summer Show” exhibition. This year the exhibition was dedicated to a crew of artists well known by post- graffiti scene aficionados. We are not big fans of this kind of Arts but the gallery’s four floors were concentrating so much color and so much creativity that it was impossible not to have a great time! We share below some of our shots.

This year Arts Factory celebrates its 20th anniversary with a cycle of three exhibitions dedicated to all these years promoting the contemporary graphic scene. One of this exhibitions is already there, from 31st August until 24 September. Entrance is always free and if you are around you cannot miss it ; -)

XIth Arrondissement. 27 Rue de Charonne, M. Ledru-Rollin L8. Tickets: free entrance

Nice to know Paris accommodates artists from different eras. We all have different tastes for arts and everything. At least no one will feel left out.
