Bonjour! I’m Elisa, a French local based in Paris, certified wine expert, and the founder of World in Paris. If you’re here, you’re probably dreaming of Paris – and I’m very glad you found me.
What is World in Paris?
World in Paris is a travel blog for discerning travelers – the kind who want cultural depth, honest opinions, and local knowledge you simply can’t get from someone who visited once.
You’ll find inspiration, practical guides, insider tips, and honest reviews – written by someone who actually lives here all year round.
I also run a weekly newsletter, a private Facebook Group for Paris and France travel planning, an Instagram account dedicated to French wine and travel, and offer one-on-one travel consultations for travelers who want a personalized itinerary.
My local perspective, knowledge of the French language, culture, and costumes, and the constant feedback on what matters to you via the travel consultations and Facebook group have helped me create a Paris travel blog that is useful, updated, and inspiring.
Why Trust Me With Your Paris Trip?
This travel blog is written by a Paris local. Most Paris travel blogs are written by expats – Americans, Brits, Australians who moved to Paris and blog about their discoveries. That’s wonderful, but it’s not the same as being French and living here for 15 years.
I speak the language natively, understand the culture from the inside, and experience Paris through all its seasons and moods – not just the honeymoon phase of moving abroad. This is the Paris I live in every day, not the one I’m discovering as a tourist.
Constantly Updated by Someone Who Lives Here. Living in Paris year-round means I catch changes as they happen: best temporary exhibition worth a detour from the tourist path, where to find cherry blossoms for your travel dates, restaurants reopening after la rentrée, museum renovations, transportation strikes. I don’t write about Paris from memory or annual visits – I write about the Paris I navigated last week.
My professional background before travel writing was in architecture and international project planning – which is why you’ll find a certain precision in how I approach itineraries, logistics, and the cultural context behind what you’re looking at.
On the wine side, I hold the French Wine Ambassador diploma from the École de Vins et Spiritueux in Paris, passed the WSET Level 3 exam, and am currently enrolled in the Bourgogne Masters program. When I write about French wine regions, wine travel, and where to taste, I write from genuine expertise.
Beyond World in Paris
I also write about France on France Bucket List, and have contributed to publications including Make Time To See The World, Love and Road, and Travel Passionate.
Have a question? I’m always happy to hear from you – in the Facebook Group, or via a private consultation.
