Where to Stay in Paris

Street of Montmartre - Paris

Bonjour, welcome to Day 2 of this Paris Planning Challenge!

Today we are going to find where to stay in Paris!  It does not matter if your trip is in one week or four months, you should book your bed as soon as possible: the best accommodation in Paris is sold out very fast!

Don’t procrastinate on this task.

Before going through today’s task, we assume that you have bought your tickets to Paris or know your trip dates.

Did you shortlist 2-3 Paris Districts during Day 1? If you need some extra help, check out our recommendations on the best districts to stay in Paris for all kinds of travel.

Types of Accommodation in Paris

Accommodation in Paris could be grouped into four main groups:

» Hotels, going from mid-range hotels to boutique hotels or luxury hotels.

» Palace Hotels, a special category in France to identify, among the luxury hotels, the most exceptional establishments. They are usually historical hotels located in the most famous streets or avenues in Paris.

» Hostels, perfect for lower budgets or for people willing to meet other travelers. Some hostels in Paris also propose individual rooms.

» Furnished Apartments are the best way to get a more local experience. Short-term rentals are perfect for couples, families, groups of friends, and in general, for longer stays. This is not a service that we recommend for a weekend getaway.

» Serviced Apartments (also called condo-hotels) are furnished apartments that additionally provide hotel-like amenities such as room service, housekeeping, a fitness center, a laundry room, and a recreation room. We love this concept because it means that you are getting the best of both worlds!

TIP: There is nothing like an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower from your room to say you’re in the City of Light! Check out the best hotels in Paris with Eiffel Tower views or this list of lovely apartments with views of the Eiffel Tower.
