Start your weekend by sipping your favorite cocktail and enjoying stunning views from one of the best rooftop bars in Paris, the Terrass Hotel’s rooftop bar. Located in Montmartre (12-14 Rue Joseph de Maistre), you can spot some of the most beautiful monuments of Paris, such as Les Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, or the Grand Palais.

2. Romantic Dinner and Theatre /Cabaret Show

From the Terrass Hotel, head to the Moulin Rouge, one of the best cabarets in Paris, for a night show of glitter, can-can dance, and bubbles.

There’s the option to dine on-site, which we recommend, or you can share a great value pre-theatre dining menu in the romantic neo-restaurant Vava (42 Rue Veron). It’s a 5-minute walk to Moulin Rouge, and it offers traditional cuisine with a touch of modernity and a pleasant setting that is both cozy and modern.

Alternatively, secure tickets to a ballet performance at the sumptuous Opéra Garnier (you can check the program here) or at the hilarious comedy show ‘”How to Become Parisian in One Hour.” In this case, you can start with a pre-theater French apéritif at Galerie Lafayette’s rooftop bar, which is located in the same area.

For dinner, go to Le Grand Café Capucines (4 Boulevard des Capucines), the legendary brasserie of the Grands Boulevards (since 1875!), or at the intimate restaurant Vivre (3, Rue de la Michodière), for a simple and refined cuisine where the product is so well highlighted.

Romantic Paris Itinerary: Saturday

1. Stroll Around Ile de la Cité

Ile de la Cité - Paris

After enjoying breakfast in bed at your romantic hotel, head to Ile de la Cité, Paris’ beating heart. Medieval Ile de la Cité is full of curiosities to discover with your special one. You can start with the world-famous Notre Dame de Paris (from outside), followed by a visit to the Sainte-Chapelle, with its exquisite stained glassed windows.

Not far from the Sainte-Chapelle, you can visit the colorful Flower Market, which sells flowers and birds (the latter on Sundays) and has become an institution on the Ile de la Cité. Part covered and part open-air, its venerable old pavilions shelter hundreds of flowers, shrubs, trees, and other plants.

Marché aux Fleurs - Ile de la Cité

For lunch, you can stop at the oh-so Parisian Au Vieux Paris d’Arcole (open for lunch from 12 pm to 2.30 pm), one of the most romantic restaurants in Paris, which is especially beautiful when the wisteria that adorns the façade is in full bloom.

Alternatively, cross Pont Saint-Louis to Ile Saint Louis for a romantic meal in one of the terraces with Seine River views. Quiet and relaxing, Ile Saint-Louis is home to several art galleries and typical cafés-brasseries.

2. Luxury Spa & Shopping in Paris

Galerie Vivienne Paris

If you’re in need of a spot for pampering, head to the first Arrondissement of Paris to relax at the opulent Spa Velmont (Hotel Le Meurice) or the Spa at Mandarin Oriental. They are two of Paris’s many luxurious spas where each guest is celebrated as an individual.

If the spa time whets your appetite, head to Angelina, at 226 Rue de Rivoli, for a cup of its classic (and world-celebrated) hot chocolate. Next, whisk your lover off to Galerie Vivienne one of the most beautiful covered passages in Paris for some retail therapy. Here, you can shop for beautiful fabrics, books, vintage gifts, and good wine.

For something special, head to Place Vendôme to pick up a fabulous gift at one of the exclusive jewelry shops in the square.

3. Enjoy Paris’ Most Beautiful Avenue from the Water

Seine River Cruise

Enjoy a magical cruise along the Seine River, Paris’ most beautiful avenue. From Ile de la Cité and the Louvre to the Musée d’Orsay and the Eiffel Tower, the Seine River offers some of the city’s best views.

Book a private boat with a skipper and take your partner on a romantic sightseeing cruise for two; it will be a memorable experience! Alternatively, this Apéritif Cruise on the Seine River always gets excellent ratings.

After the cruise, stop for dinner at the iconic restaurant Les Ombres (27 Quai Jacques Chirac) to impress your partner with panoramic views over the Eiffel Tower. Make sure to book well in advance to secure the most intimate table.

To wrap up the first day of this romantic getaway to Paris, toast to your happiness at Rosa Bonheur sur Seine, a typical Parisian guinguette barge bar that welcomes people from all walks of life to eat, drink, and dance. On the way, don’t forget to stop to admire the magnificent Pont Alexandre III, one of the most romantic spots in all of Paris, for one of the best views of Paris at night.

Romantic Paris Itinerary: Sunday

1. Morning Stroll in one of the Parks of Paris

Luxembourg Gardens Paris

The last day of this romantic Paris itinerary comes with more romantic places in Paris for couples; the hard part will be to choose only a few!

Start your Sunday morning with a tasty French breakfast. Once you’ve satisfied your early-morning appetite, take a walk through the Tuileries Garden on the Right Bank or the Luxembourg Gardens on the other side of the Seine River. They are both lovely, but if you decide to explore the second, don’t forget to visit the Médicis Fountain, considered one of the most romantic spots in Paris!

2. Visit a Museum in Paris

Best Louvre Artwork

If this is your first time in Paris, you may want to check the Louvre Museum for a couple of hours. Avoid the crowds around the Louvre’s main artworks and check out Louvre’s themed trail ‘Ideal Beauty, The Human Body in Greek Sculpture’ (2 hours duration) through Etruscan, Greek, and Roman antiquities. Or you can opt for a more personalized trail where “love” is the main subject, with artworks like La Baigneuse (Joseph Charles Marin), L’Amour (Antoine Chaudet), Zéphir et Psyché (Henri-Joseph Rutxhiel), or the famous Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss (Antonio Canova) Book your Louvre tickets here.

After viewing the exhibits, enjoy light refreshments (or a glass of champagne) at the beautiful Le Café Marly, located beneath the arcades of the Louvre and with perfect views of the Louvre Pyramid.

Le Chalet des Iles

You can also decide to keep it intimate by exploring one of Paris’s lesser-known museums or galleries; some of them are incredibly romantic! For example, you can visit the Musée Marmottan-Monet (Paris 16), which features the most extensive collection of Monet paintings, and then take a taxi for a romantic lunch in the lovely Chalet des Iles (book in advance).

The Zadkine Museum near Luxembourg Gardens (Paris 6), Musée Gustave Moreau (Paris 9), and the Musée de la Vie Romantique (Paris 9) are all open on Sunday.

Time flies when you are having fun in Paris! By now, it’s probably time to head to the airport to take your flight back home. There was no time to explore Le Marais or other less touristy districts of Paris, but Paris is always a good idea, and we are sure there will be another Paris romantic trip for you in the future.
